![]() ![]() All of those say I need to scan a QR code from my organization to finish recovering those, which is basically the same process as not having backups turned on in the first place. My personal Microsoft Account was recovered, but none of my enterprise or business accounts were. Having backups enabled in Microsoft Authenticator doesn't seem to do anything for enterprise accounts. ![]() As an admin, I've been unable to find a way to help someone recover their Microsoft Authenticator other than clicking the option " Require re-register multifactor authentication" within Entra. Someone from your IT department (me) has to require re-registeration of your MFA. If you are interested, you can always generate your own QR code to try it out.The problem with this solution is accessing the security info in your account settings requires successful authentication (at least in my environments), which you can't complete if your authenticator isn't working. Click “From screen” to make a selection around the QR code, release the mouse, Code Two QR Code Desktop Reader does the rest of the job. One is uploading an image file that contains the QR code, and the other would be scraping right from your computer’s screenshot. ![]() Thanks to addictive tips for sharing this neat tool, CodeTwo QR Desktop Reader, makes all those possible.ĭownload the tool, after installing it. Well wait no more, you can do the same right from your PC as well. It’s cool to pull out your phone and scan it. But apparently, the usability has got better over time with a wide spread of smartphone population. There were a period we aren’t sure if the QR code will survive. QR code is short for Quick Response code, very much like the barcode you find on the back of any product you can buy from a supermarket. Doesn’t make any sense to pull out your smartphone to scan it from your computer’s monitor and view it on the tiny device when you have the big monitor right in front of you. It’s odd that you want to scan a QR code right from your PC, but sometimes there is a need. ![]()
